Overview
In your referral partner settings you can set up referral fees by job type and if the referral fee is a fixed amount, percentage or percentage with a fee cap.
You can set if the referral fee is part of your normal quote or should add on top of your normal quote.
On higher level plans you can also set if there is a custom fee scale to be used for a referral partner if your normal instant fee scales aren’t appropriate. An example would be that you have agreed to provide a special lower rate for customers via that referral partner.
How is the referral fee calculated?
1. Instant quotes
Referral fee set as part of your quote: when the quote is calculated, the fee from your table is set as the total survey quote and your referral fee is calculated from the amount. E.g. your quote table says £500 and the fee is 10%. The quote would calculate as £500 and the referral fee as £50.
Referral fee set add on top of your quote: when the quote is calculated, the referral fee is added on top of the quote from your table. E.g. your quote table says £500 and the fee is 10%. The quote would calculate as £550 (£500 in your table plus 10% on top) and the referral fee show as £50.
2. Manual quotes
When manually submitting a quote, you must submit the total quote including any referral fees owed to your referral partner. The system will then work out what the referral fee should be from that total amount submitted.
3. Editing the quote and your referral fee
If you edit the lead source, job type or total quote, the system will recalculate the referral fee at the same time to ensure your referral fees are correctly kept up to date. The referral fee is calculated from the “Total Quote” allowing for any optional extras added or discounts applied. This only affects percentage referral fees as fixed referral fees will be the same regardless of extras or discounts applied.
Referral fee set as part of your quote: the system will work out the referral fee from the amount saved on the job record. E.g. you change the source from Direct to a referral partner. The system will look at the survey quote and set the referral fee from that quote.
Referral fee set add on top of your quote: the system will work out the referral fee to add to the amount saved on the job record. E.g. you change the source from Direct to a referral partner. The system will look at the survey quote, set the referral fee and add it on top of your survey quote.
4. Overriding the referral fee
If needed, you can click on the referral fee and set it to a custom amount. However, if you edit the job type, survey quote or lead source, the system will recalculate the referral fee and you’ll need to manually reset it again.
